Data that stays on your device
Your guesses, results, streak and settings are stored only on your device. The daily reminder is scheduled on the device too.
What the app fetches
- The day's place: the app asks our server for the place of the day by date. The request carries no account or device ID, and your guesses are never sent.
- Street imagery: the street view comes from Apple Look Around and Apple Maps, under Apple's privacy terms. Far Afield does not use your location.
Purchases
Premium is sold through the App Store. Superwall shows the subscription screen and checks whether Premium is active; it receives an anonymous app user ID, device and app details, and your purchase status.
Service providers
- Cloudflare: serves the place of the day (privacy).
- Apple: Look Around and Maps imagery, payments and distribution.
- Superwall: subscription screen and purchase status (privacy).
